This is a re-organised and edited version of what is found in projects.html. Projects and ideas presented here, are not in any particular order. These are not all projects that Matter Realisations has undertaken, but rather projects that the personnel of Matter Realisations have performed.
Some projects are listed in more than one place, because they are of a multi-disciplinary nature. Some sections of this page are strictly of an explanatory nature, and involve no project work.
Materials problems that have a component in nuclear physics or nuclear chemistry are typically considered with a nuclear point of view. Not everyone has a reactor, accelerator or similar in their building.
The energies involved in nuclear processes far exceed those of chemical bonding. Any interaction of normal matter with a high energy x-ray or gamma photon, neutron, alpha particle, etc. will at a minimum lead to molecular excitation and probably ionisation. On a localised basis, temperatures can reach well beyond the boiling point for the materials concerned. Reactive species can be formed.
