The cal program can be used to produce a simple text calendar. If no arguments are specified, it prints out the calendar for the current month. Optionally, it can be asked to produce a calendar for a specified month in the current year, a specified month in a specified year (4 digit years, not 2 digit shortcuts!), or the entire year. The ``-j'' switch will use day of the year numbering, instead of day of the month.
